Gay.com Chat: Known Issues

Some of our members have had trouble getting into chat recently. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

This may be due to a Pop-up Blocker on your computer. Norton Internet Security's Pop-up Blocker may prevent you from accessing Gay.com Chat. To disable the pop-up blocker, follow these steps:

Norton Internet Security 2005

  1. Open Norton Internet Security by double-clicking the Norton icon in the bottom-right of your monitor, or click on Start >All Programs > Norton Internet Security > Norton Internet Security
  2. When Norton is open, click on the "Norton Anti Spam" button on the left pane of the window, then choose "Status and Settings".
  3. The status of the Pop-up Blocker should now be displayed. If the blocker is On, turn it off by clicking on "Pop-up Blocking" and choosing "Turn Off".
  4. When the status of the Pop-up Blocker shows "Off", you can return to Gay.com and enter chat.

Norton Internet Security 2006

  1. Open Norton Internet Security by double-clicking the Norton icon in the bottom-right of your monitor, or click on Start > All Programs > Norton Internet Security > Norton Internet Security
  2. When Norton is open, click on the "Norton Protection Center" button on the left pane of the window, then choose "Web Browsing".
  3. The status of the Pop-up Blocker should now be displayed. If the blocker is On, turn it off by clicking on "Pop-up Blocking" and choosing "Turn Off".
  4. When the status of the Pop-up Blocker shows "Off", you can return to Gay.com and enter chat.

If you are still unable to chat, please try these steps.

  1. Log in to Gay.com and try clicking here to launch messenger. After messenger launches, click the "Chat" link near the bottom of the messenger window. This should launch chat.

If this doesn't work, please follow the simple instructions below and you'll be chatting again in no time!

  1. Make sure that you are logged in to Gay.com.
  2. From the gay.com home page, click the "Your Account" link in the upper right hand corner. This will take you to the Member Center.
  3. Once you're in the Member Center, click the "Messenger" link near the top of the left column on that page. This will launch messenger.
  4. After messenger launches, click 'chat' near the bottom of the messenger window. This will launch chat.
